Come revisit or discover the wine world's next big thing -- Eastern European Wines -- while enjoying Hungarian finger foods.
Eastern Europe has a very long and rich winemaking history, however the events in the 20th century - two World Wars and the Soviet enterprises -- did much damage to quality wine production.
Today, it is again a home to some of the most dynamic winemakers. Join us on a journey of discovering some of the lesser known wine varieties from the “old world” of Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia... accompanied by traditional regional bites in a casual setting.
It’s an intimate affair so hurry and grab your ticket here at Eventbrite only.

Meet the winemakers of Cantina Malena while we drink their wine and eat veg friendly Calabrese antipasti.
There are words we say here in New Jersey that almost no one else understands, like gabagool, ragut, proshoot, and mutzadel. Well as us and only us understand, these words didn't spontaneously generate -- they are offshoots of the dialect of Italian the Calabrese spoke back when we were immigrants. I say "we" because if you live in this state you are part Italian in the same way we all wear green on St. Paddy's regardless of what 23andme says about you. So come get into it with us! The winemakers from Cantina Malena are in town so we're throwing an aperitivo wherein we'll be pouring 5 of their wines while local gumba Morris Balacco will be cooking up Calabrese veg friendly antipasti. Also, this will be held in the beautiful Prime Gallery on Palisade Ave in Jersey City.

We'll taste 7 wines and eat small plates of traditional Croatian food while Marin Nadalin, Croatian sommelier, talk us through it all.
